Biography

John Paul Shields has been playing guitar professionally for ten years. As a classical guitarist, he has played around the country, as well as at such prestigious venues as Seattle's Benaroya-Nordstrom Recital Hall and in live radio performances for KUOW. John Paul's experience ranges from tango duets to grass roots garage-rock, from acoustic singer-songwriter, to classical ensembles.

In 2003, he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Music, Magna Cum Laude, in guitar performance from the University of Washington.

John Paul has taught guitar through the Renton H.O.M.E. school program, the Boys and Girls Club in Kirkland, and as a student teacher at the University of Washington. He currently teaches out of his private studio.

John Paul resides in Seattle, where he continues to perform and teach guitar, play recreational soccer, and work seasonally as a ski instructor.
